Compare & reconcile two sheets

Find exactly what changed between two versions of a spreadsheet โ€” matched by an ID column, not by fragile row order. See changed cells, added and missing rows, and whether totals reconcile.

1. Load both sheets

Sheet A โ€” original / source

Drop a file here or click to browseXLSX, XLS, CSV, TSV, ODS, JSON โ€” processed locally

Sheet B โ€” updated / target

Drop a file here or click to browseXLSX, XLS, CSV, TSV, ODS, JSON โ€” processed locally

When to use a key column

If rows can be inserted, deleted or re-sorted between versions, comparing row 5 with row 5 gives nonsense. Matching on a unique ID โ€” invoice number, SKU, employee ID, email โ€” pairs up the right rows no matter where they are. Pick two columns (e.g. Date + Reference) when no single column is unique.

Common reconciliation jobs

  • Bank statement vs. accounting ledger
  • Last month's price list vs. this month's
  • CRM export vs. billing system export
  • Inventory count vs. system stock levels
  • Payroll this period vs. last period

How to compare in Excel or Google Sheets without a tool

Add a helper column with =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A2,Other!A:E,3,FALSE),"Missing") to pull the matching value from the other sheet, then a second column =C2=F2 to flag differences. It works, but gets slow and error-prone with many columns โ€” which is what this tool automates.
